LARUE COUNTY
Police and LaRue County officials are still awaiting confirmation of dental records to release the identity of a trucker killed Thursday morning in a fiery crash along I-65.
While a positive identity has not been confirmed, Deputy LaRue County Coroner Wesley Warren said preliminary evidence shows the man is likely from Louisville.
The driver died after the tractor-trailer he was driving smashed into another semi broken down on the shoulder of the interstate. The driver inside that unit suffered minor injuries.
Because of severe burns the driver of the first vehicle suffered, an autopsy had to be performed to search for clues to his identity.
Warren said it could take until Monday to match teeth to dental records and positively ID the driver.
