United Way of Central Kentucky is looking for Hardin County talent.
The organization hosts a talent showcase from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25 during the Heartland Festival in the Park at Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown.
Executive Director Christopher Wilborn is excited for the United Way to participate in the Hardin County Festival in the Park again this year, he said. The opportunity gives exposure to the United Way and helps express the organization’s goal to impact the community through education, income and health throughout the county and region, he said.
The United Way’s Got Talent program loosely is based on the reality show “America’s Got Talent,” Wilborn said.
The organization is looking for a wide variety of talents. The acts can be singers, dancers, gymnasts, cloggers, jugglers or anything considered a talent.
Contestants must be at least 14 years old and all acts must be pre-approved for content and structure.
Ten to 12 acts will be featured. Sound will be provided but participants must bring props and instruments.
Organizers suggest registering soon. Registration forms can be found at www.unitedwayck.org.
First, second and third prizes are awarded.
