Upton man arrested for assault

Kentucky State Police arrested an Upton man Monday night in connection to an October assault at a Cecilia Smith Mill Road residence.

Jacob M. Walker, 22, is charged with second-degree assault. He also is accused of violating felony probation.

According to a warrant, the victim went to the residence to speak to Walker. However, police said before a discussion occurred, Walker and two juveniles assaulted the man.

During the assault, the victim was punched and kicked in the face, according to the warrant. While he was on the ground, police said Walker and the juveniles also kicked the man in the chest.

Walker is lodged at Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear Jan. 16 for a preliminary hearing in Hardin District Court.

According to court records, Walker was on a four-year probation period for theft by unlawful taking of a firearm.
