Veterans nursing home a step closer

Hardin County is a step closer to landing a veterans nursing home.
Congress on Wednesday passed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2011, which included conveyance of 194 acres from Fort Knox for the proposed facility.
The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs has requested a federal grant to build the nursing home — and is on a priority list to receive the money, said Allen Workman, an internal policy analyst for the KDVA.
