An Army soldier, of course, is the first of five life-sized statutes — from each military branch — for the Hardin County Veterans Tribute.
Local artist Rich Griendling, whose Elizabethtown studio is near the Fort Knox Army post, said he is about 95 percent finished with the clay sculpture. Next he will ship it to Bright Foundry in Louisville where workers will make a mold and then a bronze statue from it.
