The Hardin County Veterans Tribute committee reimbursed Elizabethtown government Monday for concrete poured at the tribute site inside the Elizabethtown Nature Park.
The check, which was slightly less than $64,000, fulfills a promise made by the committee to pay the city back. Hawkins said no taxpayer money was spent on construction of the tribute. The committee asked the city to contract the concrete for the tribute so it would match the consistency and color of the materials used elsewhere in the park.
