VFW supports Y-Club’s participation in Kentucky Youth Assembly

The local Y-Club, part of the YMCA, under the leadership of Kimberly Shepherd, received a donation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10281 and its Ladies Auxiliary to assist with expenses for Y-Club members to attend a conference, the Kentucky Youth Assembly. In explanation, Shepherd said, “This is a three-day learning conference where students participate directly in a simulation of the Commonwealth’s Democratic process. Acting as senators and representatives, students write, debate and vote on legislation that affects them.
