Wartime romance stories often play out on the big screen, but there are people in Hardin County who lived a wartime romance.
John and Mary Tindall of Radcliff have one of those stories.
They were in Vietnam in 1969, both in their early 20s.
John’s friend was in the hospital — no war wounds, just kidney stones. When John called to check on him, his friend said every Wednesday the female staff from the embassy came to the hospital to talk with the troops.
