VINE GROVE — Wayne Vowels, an administrative assistant for Vine Grove, stepped down from his position earlier this week.
Mayor Donovan Smith made the announcement Tuesday night at a City Council work session.
Vowels, whose son serves on the council and is former mayor, held the position for 16 months, Smith said.
The mayor declined to elaborate on why he resigned. Smith said he does not expect to fill the position.
