Vine Grove residents could pay a few more dollars than last year in property taxes.
City Council members approved the first reading of a proposed ordinance Monday night that would increase the rate for real property from 16.7 cents per $100 of taxable property to 17.1 cents.
That would mean a tax increase of about $3.20 for a house valued at $80,000, $10 for a $250,000 home and $20 for a $500,000 residence.
The rates would be for the 2013 fiscal year on all taxable property according to its 2012 assessed value.
