The Vine Grove High School annual alumni reunion was June 28 at James T. Alton Middle School in Vine Grove. Former students ranging from the class of 1936 to the last class to graduate in 1962 were in attendance.

Roy E. Nall, class of 1936, was awarded a basket of Watkins products for being the oldest VGHS member in attendance. He and his wife travel to the reunion each year from Downingtown, Pa. The gift was donated by Alta Hargan, class of 1953, who is a Watkins product dealer in Vine Grove. Ben Carter, class of 1953, received the award for the person who traveled the greatest distance to the reunion. He was presented a piece of art work by Elsie Hall, class of 1954, who is a well-known Vine Grove artist. She always donates pieces of her art work for prizes at the annual event. The class of 1948 celebrated their 60th reunion this year, and the class of 1958 celebrated their 50th reunion by floating 50 balloons over the tables where they were gathered. The next VGHS reunion will be the last Saturday in June 2009.
