Thanksgiving for many on Thursday was an occasion to reconnect with family over a day of food and rest, but for an array of volunteers the day was busy.
Local churches in Elizabethtown and Radcliff provided hundreds of Thanksgiving meals with all the trimmings to people around the county — a tradition in its own right.
At St. Christopher Catholic Church in Radcliff, the morning started around 5:30 a.m. as volunteers in the kitchen prepared food. Packaging began around 8 a.m., and at 9 a.m. drivers arrived and began to deliver meals.
