Welcome to the new online edition of The News-Enterprise.

Beginning this morning, when you type thenewsenterprise.com into your computer’s browser it will display news, features and advertising in new formats designed to be more intuitive and much easier to navigate.

Information will be displayed in real time and updated as developments occur during the day. New advertising features such as the searchable "Marketplace" and a variety of leader board, skyscraper and in-story positions will increase the value for advertising customers as well as online readers. Multi-media features, including reader-submitted video, will be provided.

The site still is under construction, so please bear with us. In fact, however, construction never will be complete. It will be a work in progress as The News-Enterprise adapts developing new technology, techniques and functionality to meet the needs and wants of readers and advertisers.

One of the most important functions of thenewsenterprise.com is the opportunity for readers to engage in a community conversation about events, issues or interests they consider interesting. To participate in this self-policed community dialogue, readers will register with verifiable e-mail addresses, which will not be published. Readers offended by comments that are obscene, profane or hateful can flag them to be reviewed and removed, if necessary, or reposted by The News-Enterprise.
