A long-planned project to tie two water mains in Elizabethtown together was authorized this week for a possible late spring finish.
Elizabethtown City Council awarded the contract Monday for the West Park Road water main extension to Hudson-based Horsley Construction at $232,500.
City Engineer Scott Reynolds said the project will connect the water main at the industrial park on West Park Road to a water main on Ring Road.
“It’s been in the planning stages for years,” to reinforce pressure, Reynolds said.
