White Mills Civic League appreciates community support

-A A +A

Part of living in a small community is the joy of envisioning and completing projects with your neighbors. Watching people invest their time and skills working together truly is a joy. Recently a few men band together to clean off some of the debris from the dam at White Mills. I want to thank Dwight Morgan, Bobby Singer and Scott Nall for taking on that project.

Also, Spurrier Graham and Jim Scudder worked in order to make repairs on the playground at the ball park.

And this past weekend we had our Festival at the Park event and were blessed with an abundance of great weather and no rain. Not only did we get to shoot off our White Mills Days fireworks, but had a lot of fun listening to local singers, a Civil War band and a whole lot more.

I want to thank White Mills Fire Department, Larry Seelye, Spurrier Graham, Tony Reynolds, Cole and Sandra Miller, Jason Hayes, Bella Singer, Barry Honaker, the Kentucky Home Guard Band of Bardstown, Sheri Graham, Jerry and Judy Smith, Forest and Pat Nelson, Mark Cox, Elaine Sallee, Britanny Curle, J. J. Akins, Duke Burnett, Buddy Akers, “Midget Mountain BBQ”, “Still Thinking BBQ,” Lewis Graham and a team of adults and teens planning to go on a missions trip for all their work in bringing things together for the festival.

And a special thank you to WAKY, WULF, The News-Enterprise and all the people who helped with publicity.

Our community is blessed by the contributions of so many. Thank you also to the hundreds of people who came out to enjoy our festival.
