HOLIDAY EVENTS. The annual White Mills Bridge Lighting event will be Nov. 28. The parade is at 5:30 p.m., line up at 5 p.m. at White Mills Christian Camp; cars, trucks, tractors and floats are welcome. For information on the parade, call Cole Miller, 862-2932. The chili supper will be served from 6 to 7:15 p.m.; proceeds benefit Lakewood Elementary School Resource Center. There will be a live nativity from 7:15-7:30 p.m. The bridge lighting will be at 7:30 p.m., followed by Santa’s visit and refreshments of cookies and drinks. Desserts for the supper are needed as well as cookies for later. For information, call 369-8118 or 869-6284.
On Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m., White Mills Baptist Church will present a community Christmas cantata.
Last Sunday, St. Ignatius Catholic Church had Thanksgiving dinner for the congregation after the morning service.
There will be a barbecue chicken dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at the White Mills Fire Department.
On Dec. 18, Santa Claus will visit the White Mills firehouse.
THANKSGIVING. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
A large crowed attended the community Thanksgiving service at White Mills Christian Church last Sunday. Churches participating were White Mills Baptist, St. Ignatius Catholic and White Mills Christian. Refreshments were served in the White Mills Christian Life Center after the service.
SYMPATHY. Sympathy to the families of Nita South, Danny Crewz, Betty Hayes, Brenda Doane and Bob Groves.
GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes to Bonnie Ward, David Knight and all others who are ill.
OUT AND ABOUT. I attended church last Sunday at Unity Baptist with Elnoah and Kathy Gragson. We had lunch afterwards at the Haymakers restaurant near White Mills.
Conner, Logan and Sydney Thompson spent last weekend with their grandparents, Danny and Linda Thompson of Edmonson County.
Chris and Lynn Young and sons went to Louisville last weekend, where Chris’ all-star football team participated in a tournament.
Elnoah and Kathy Gragson attended basketball games for Zack and Gavan Young at Lakewood Elementary last Monday night.
BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy belated birthday this month to Johnny Wayne Skees, Justin Skees, Holly Swift, Brody McDonald and Ian McDonald.
