ORGANIZATION NEWS. At the Hardin County Homemakers 71st annual meeting May 24, the Goldenrod Homemakers Club was winner of the best scrapbook presented by a medium club. Nadine Bush compiled the scrapbook. Elaine Conder was a reading award winner and received awards, along with other club members, for 100 percent attendance and volunteer service hours.

ANNIVERSARY. Happy belated 44th anniversary to Jerry and Sarah Staples on June 15.

SYMPATHY. Sympathy to the families of Maxine Susan Keith, Randall Booker, Jeffrey Peter, Francis Preston and Louie Dennis.

CIVIC LEAGUE/WHITE MILLS DAYS. Remember that the White Mills Civic League will meet June 28 to discuss White Mills Days.

Amy Ragland is coordinator of the White Mills Days beauty pageant and baby contest this year.  Numerous businesses graciously have donated nice gifts to be given away to the winners of the contests. The White Mills Days beauty pageant is at 7 p.m. July 1, and the baby contest is at noon July 2, both at White Mills Christian Camp. Practice for all contestants participating in the beauty pageant is at 7 p.m. June 30 at the White Mills Christian Camp front porch.

Preregistration is in progress now and will end at 6:30 p.m. July 1. To register, call Amy Ragland at home at 765-5449, or on her cell, 401-4777. If no one answers please leave a message.

GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes to Elnoah Gragson, David Johnson, Saundra Powers, Donna Pearson and all others who are ill.

CONGRATULATIONS. Congratulations to Central Hardin High School’s Boy’s Baseball team for winning the state tournament.

BASEBALL. Conner and Logan Thomspon, sons of Marsha and Nick Thomspon, were selected to be on the all-star baseball teams in Elizabethtown.

BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy 88th birthday to Edward Copelin.

Louise Gray celebrated her 92nd birthday June 18 at the Church of God Fellowship Hall. A large crowd attended the celebration. Chase Hatfield, grandson of Wilford and Wanda Hatfield, was 2 years old June 16. The family celebrated his birthday with Louise Gray.

VISITS. Elnoah and Kathy Gragson’s visitors last Saturday were James and Loretta Johnson and me. Their Sunday visitors for Father’s Day were Chris, Lynn, Zack and Gavan Young and Nick, Marsha, Conner, Logan, Sydney and Chloe Thompson.

Jean Willis of Virginia, daughter of Anna Fern Best, is here visiting family and friends. They visited with Loretta Johnson and me last Monday.

Ervin and Violet Stith’s visitors last Sunday for Father’s Day were Missy Fackler and Jeff Mabe; Greg, Christy, Devin and Kennedy Stith; Danny Stith and Mary White; Geneva Hatfield; Martha Mullins; and Bradley Skees.

Geneva Hatfield is visiting friends and relatives while here from Virginia. Geneva, Violet Stith and Calvin Skees visited Martha Mullins last week. Geneva and Martha visited Mary Anna Goodman recently. Geneva and Calvin also visited Arvil Hornback and Lorena Napper in Elizabethtown.
