A White Mills man died Friday in a single-vehicle wreck. Mitchell S. Skees Jr., 73, was traveling east on Centerpoint Road just past noon, according to Kentucky State Police, when his vehicle left the right shoulder of the road for an unknown reason. The vehicle then struck a tree. The Hardin County coroner’s office pronounced Skees dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said. A lifelong Hardin County resident, ne is survived by his wife, Ada Marie Skees of White Mills, eight sons, five daughters, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
The funeral is 11 a.m. today at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in White Mills with the Rev. Jeff Hooper officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. today at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
