William S. Stark Sr.

William S. Stark Sr., 91, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Helmwood Healthcare Facility.

He was a native of Bullitt County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. He was retired from the Postal Service at Fort Knox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edgar and Artie Ella Mobley Stark; and a brother, Alvin Stark.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna Katherine Higdon Stark; two sons, Greg Stark (Belinda) of Elizabethtown and Bill Stark (Norma) of Louisville; two daughters, Patricia Ralston (Dale) of Louisville and Carolyn Stark Keller (Stephen) of Lexington; four sisters, Katherine Nichols of Missouri, Clara Howell and Aileen Conner, both of Elizabethtown, and Ethel Lovell of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Haylee Ralston, Kendra Ralston, Steven Connor Keller II, Benjamin Todd Keller, Kristin Mitchell, Jeff Stark, Brittany Stark and Charlie Stark; and 11 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Anna Elaine, Jacob, David, Evan, Duncan, Corey, Chelsie, Charles Jr. and Tyler.

The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 8, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Bill Ray officiating. Burial with military honors was in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
