Innovation Center director Lisa Williams was guest speaker at the July meeting of the Radcliff Small Business Alliance at Camp Knox Lodge.

Williams explained the types of financial grants and in-kind professional support available to anyone interested in bringing new products, services and intellectual properties to market.

Assistance is available at each stage in the development of a new business from concept to production and distribution, Williams said. Funded through Kentucky General Assembly, the intent of the Innovation Center is to stimulate and accelerate new businesses that create new job opportunities.

Williams also described the Lincoln Trail Venture Group, which meets monthly with entrepreneurs seeking additional funding.

The group operates on the same concept as the TV show “Shark Tank.”

“We are much nicer,” Williams said.

Her presentation sparked many discussions and conversations during the post-meeting networking time.

Radcliff Small Business Alliance plans a Sept. 21 Community Showcase and Business Expo at Colvin Community Center.
