The National Weather Service has intensified its winter storm alert for Hardin and all adjacent counties.
The advisory issued Friday was upgraded Saturday afternoon to a winter storm warning, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday.
The forecast calls for a quarter-inch of ice or more plus three to six inches of snow and sleet. Also expected are high winds with gusts of 30 mph or more.
Road conditions are expected to be treacherous at times. Also, the combination of ice and winds is likely to cause tree damage leading to the potential for power outages.
Forecasters urge the public to be aware of changing conditions and plan accordingly.
