Members of the GFWC Kentucky Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown recently attended the Fourth District Winter Conference in Campbellsville. The Campbellsville Woman’s Club hosted the conference at First United Methodist Church. Following the February healthy heart month theme, table centerpieces were vases of red roses. They also had a meal catered for the event.
The program was presented by International students, Ping and Jian Jia from China; Josh from Nigeria; and Professor Wan Soo and his wife, Hanna, from South Korea. It was a mixture of music, singing and violin with piano accompaniment, as well as personal testimonies.
The annual student arts and crafts contest was held and many students participated in the contest. Judges gave ribbons for first, second and third places in each category. First-place winners will go on to the GFWC Kentucky state convention in April at the Brown Hotel in Louisville for the state competition.
Club members also donated canned goods to the Taylor County Food Pantry. Four large boxes were collected.
There were six clubs represented with an attendance of thirty-nine.
