Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown donates books to library

-A A +A

Per the tradition of The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown, books are presented to the library upon the death of a spouse or immediate family member. In the past few months, member Betty Hilliard passed away and her family chose “Sky Color” by Peter H. Reynolds, a book about art for ages 5 through 8 and it encourages young artists to paint and “Raven Boys” by Maggie Stiefvater . Hilliard’s family also gave many of her paperback book collection, which in turn was given to the VA Hospital in Louisville.

The book “How Music Works”by David Byrne was chosen in memory of Lucille Dorothy Wills Perry, former member and chapter president. It is highly recommended for libraries as it details how music shapes our lives and how recent technology has changed the music world.

In memory of Richard Wagonner Hart, husband of member Reva Hart, the book “A Wanted Man; A Jack Reacher Novel” was selected.

Bookplates will be placed in each of the books stating it is a donation from The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown.
