Woman’s Club members attend state convention

Members of the Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown attended the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Kentucky State Convention at The Brown Hotel in Louisville from April 10 through 13. The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown had many winning results at the convention.

Diane Willis, 4th District Governor and member of the Elizabethtown club was named “Outstanding Governor.”

The club itself and members won first place in conservation community service programs, home life community service programs, cultural arts ceramics – Nora Sweat,  and cultural arts counted cross stitch – Phyllis Brandenburg;  second place in international outreach community service partnerships, public issues community service programs, cultural arts wearable art - Gail Hinton, woven rug – Betty Sue French, crewel embroidery – Nora Sweat, photography volunteers in action – Nora Sweat, photography feature – Nora Sweat, and press book – Maritza Johnson;  third place in arts in the community service programs, fundraiser, cultural arts jewelry – Lara French Welp; and the club received the 100 percent club award.

Members attending were Diane Willis, Betty Sue French, Cora Ellen McKinley, Regina Lancaster, Jackie Ball, Betty Jackson, Maritza Johnson and Nora Sweat.
