YOUTH BASEBALL: E'town Blue, LaRue advance in 8-year-old tourney (7/13)

The News-Enterprise Elizabethtown Blue and LaRue County are on a collision course in the Cal Ripken District 10 8-year-old tournament. Both teams won Saturday in Leitchfield to stay in the winner’s bracket. The two teams meet today at 3 p.m. in the winner’s bracket final. Elizabethtown Blue routed Elizabethtown Red, 11-1 in four innings. Ben Pyles went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs scored. Paul Fiepke collected two hits, including a triple, while Trent Wood had two hits and scored two runs. Edward Alexander, Jackson Webb and Tyler Durbin each had two hits.
