The News-Enterprise The Meade County 7-year-old All-Stars are a game away from winning the District 10 tournament. More impressive is how they got there. Meade County rolled to a 36-17 victory over the Elizabethtown Area Baseball Commission All-Stars at the EABC Peanut League field Monday night. Mason Lee led Meade County by going 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and five runs scored. Justin Hiner, Nathan Holley and Bailey Medley each had five hits. Hiner scored five times and had two doubles, while Holley scored five runs and Medley four. Duece Waters, Brayden Blankenship, Austin Waters and Zach Cherry each collected four hits. Dedrian Jones had three hits and Brooks Nelson had a single. For Elizabethtown, Bradley Lackey, Trace Barnes, Cameron Smith and La’Steven Cleaver each had a team-high four hits. Logan Savage, Jansen Wilson and Andrew Abbara had three hits, while Camden Thompson and Kyle Smith had two apiece. Carson Porter had a single. Abbara scored a team-high three runs. Lackey, Thompson, Barnes, Cameron Smith and Kyle Smith each scored two runs. In the first game Monday night, Elizabethtown scored seven runs in the bottom of the first en route to a 12-7 victory over Breckinridge County. Thompson led the Elizabethtown attack with three hits. Barnes, Cleaver, Savage and Abbara each had two hits, while Lackey, Cameron Smith, Wilson, Sharp, Porter and Kyle Smith had one hit apiece. Cleaver and Abbara each scored two runs. Elizabethtown plays Breckinridge County tonight at 6:30 in the loser’s bracket final. The winner advances to meet Meade County at 8:30.
