-A A +A

Archery, fly fishing, and target shooting were just three of the numerous outdoor activities more than7,000 youth and their families experienced at a recent Boy Scouts of America Patriot Games featuring the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation’s Trailblazer Adventure Program.

Hosted by the Lincoln Heritage Council, the Patriot Games featuring the Trailblazer Adventure Program was Oct. 13 at Fort Knox. The event opened the door for youth and their families to experience a variety of activities and demonstrations designed to show youth the enjoyment of an outdoor lifestyle.

Groups from throughout Kentucky volunteered time to introduce the youth to activities ranging from camping to target shooting and archery to trapping demonstrations, and more. Groups participating included the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation, LightsOut Outdoors Archery, Kentucky Chapter Trout Unlimited, Kentucky Trappers Association and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

The Patriot Games jump started the weekend Oct. 12, with camping and bonfires for scouts and their families at Keyes Park, and rolled into Saturday with BSA activities and the USSA Foundation’s Trailblazer Adventure Day.
