Swope Family of Dealerships

Amanda Burnett has been with the Swope Family of Dealerships since she was 19. Now 32, Burnett has advanced from part-time receptionist to her current position as accounts payable specialist for the company’s accounting department.

However, Burnett’s work at Swope goes far beyond her title. Over the years, Burnett has helped the company give back to the community through her role as a United Way Annual Campaign Champion. Through this role, Burnett encourages fellow employees to raise money for United Way of Central Kentucky’s annual campaign.

Burnett took part in the 6-month United Way Fellows class last

year, learning more about organizations in the community that benefit

from United Way.

Burnett also helps lead company teams for annual March of Dimes and Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising events.

“I am lucky enough to work for a company that is heavily involved in the community and philanthropy,” Burnett said. “Swope actively encourages employees to become engaged in the community and support organizations through volunteering, participating on boards and advisory councils and fundraising events.”

Burnett also serves as a board member with the Young Professional Network of Hardin County, served as board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters and served as an ambassador for the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce.

“I believe that becoming involved with any organization helps not only those in need but allow us to become better advocates for the organization’s mission,” Burnett said.

Director of Marketing and Community Engagement at

Swope, Susan Gifford, said Burnett

has been eager to assist with any

initiative she can at Swope.

“When I think about the people

that inspire me, that are doing things in our community that not only make a difference but lead others to do so, Amanda is one of the people I think of,” Gifford said.

Burnett lives with her husband, Brandon, in Elizabethtown. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, bowling, taking part in the local Well Armed Woman chapter and occasionally enjoys swimming with the Lincoln Trail Masters Swim Club.
