The Burton and Barbara Langley Family Foundation and Hardin County Water District No. 2 announce $31,500 in scholarships have been awarded to Hardin County students.
Hardin County Water District No. 2 area residents are eligible to receive a scholarship and more information can be found on the district’s website. The Langley Family Foundation has presented more than 1,500 scholarships.
In 2011, Burton and Barbara Langley established the foundation as a means of helping others achieve financial independence and become socially responsible members of society. Burton and Barbara Langley and their children have been blessed by Hardin County and want to lay a foundation others might be blessed by embracing the values they have adhered to throughout their lives. The scholarship is one of several ways they presently are giving back to Hardin County through their family foundation.
Burton Langley was a commissioner for the water district from 1965-91 until moving to Florida. Langley is credited with designing the Hardin County Water District No. 2 logo.
The 2019 recipients are Spencer Brandenburg, David Kiger, Rachel Price, Kaci Goedde, Laine Gaddie, Caehla Bell, Kathryn Ball, Kayla Nunn, Riley Filyaw, Summer Mohamed, Destiny Tharpe, Emma Schall, Samantha Bell, Dillon Bland, Peyton Beger, Alex Ash, Joseph Kiger, David Howey, Heather Rigdon, Samuel Smith, Haylee Figg, Gaige Powers, Samuel Herringshaw, Kaitlyn Scamihorn, Adam Case, Hannah Isaacs, Lauren Sisk, Luke Gattis, Mikale Youravich, Riley Beausoleil and Elizabeth Grogran.
