Radcliff Woman’s Club members met Sept. 9 at Colvin Community Center.
The September program featured Tanya Thomas, executive director of SpringHaven domestic violence program. Being with SpringHaven for 33 years, Thomas provided information on SpringHaven’s mission, details of assistance both physically and emotionally provided to residents and outlining the eight counties, plus Fort Knox, which SpringHaven serves.
Members were updated on the Third/Fourth District merger of the General Federated Women’s Club Kentucky at the recent fall conference hosted by Beechmont Woman’s Club in Louisville. Six members attended.
Members participated in projects including assisting the Red Cross Blood Drive at Colvin Community Center; the first Radcliff Cultural Festival working in the Kids Zone area with a duck pond for children; providing dinner to members of the Military Officers Association as a fundraiser; and a day trip to Derby Dinner Playhouse.
Members wore silver to bring attention to Ovarian Cancer Awareness month with information being given to members about the deadly disease.
The meeting was closed with the 50/50 drawing, door prize drawing and the reading of the Collect.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Colvin Community Center in Radcliff. New Members and guests are invited to attend.
