  • Potted Few members gather for April meeting

    The Fort Knox Potted Few Garden Club met recently at the Vine Grove home of Jan Colgan with cohost Annette Peter.

    After a brunch and the business meeting, club members toured the Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary in Guston to learn about the rescue and rehab facility for injured wildlife.

    The next club meeting is May 15 at the Elizabethtown home of Bonne Gunter with cohost Ria Malito. Members will then tour Doug Gebler’s Elizabethtown garden to present a program to “Take a Walk on the Wild Side.”

  • A-Team appreciates support of Fazoli’s

    On behalf of the Hardin County Autism Team Support Group, A-Team, we would like to extend our gratitude to the management of Fazoli’s Restaurant in Elizabethtown.

    On April 16, Fazoli’s partnered with the A-Team to host an awareness event in recognition of Autism Awareness Month. The support group was able to meet and dine at the restaurant, while children completed an autism awareness craft project.

    NAPIER. Army Reserve Pvt. Ethan E. Napier has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

    Napier is the son of James and Virginia Napier of Hodgenville.

    He is a 2012 graduate of LaRue County High School in Hodgenville.

  • Kerrs celebrate 50th anniversary

    James L. and Virginia Kerr of Elizabethtown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family April 20, 2013, at their residence.

    They were married April 20, 1963, in Hardin County by Jack Alexander. Maid of honor was Patricia Kerr Hennon and best man was Larry Kerr.

    Mr. Kerr is retired from Cott and is employed part time at Severns Valley Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Kerr is employed at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    They have three children, Lisa Akin, Vickie Huff and Scott Kerr, all of Elizabethtown; and seven grandchildren.

    Audrey Catherine Vittitow of New Haven and Brian Jacob Stinson of Bardstown were married July 14, 2012, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in New Haven by the Rev. Troy Overton.

    The bride is the daughter of Charlotte and Keith Vittitow of New Haven.

    The groom is the son of Jennifer Stinson of Louisville and Brian (Shelia) Stinson of Sonora.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Matron of honor was Natalie Vittitow Spalding of Lexington, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Russell and Sarah Stinson, sister of the groom.

    Natalie Deanne Vittitow of New Haven and Matthew Boone Spalding of Bardstown were married Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in New Haven by the Rev. Troy Overson.

    The bride is the daughter of Charlotte and Keith Vittitow of New Haven.

    The groom is the son of Julie (Keith) Hidgon of Boston, Ky., and Matt Spalding of Bardstown.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.
