  • Miss Hardin County Fair Pageant 2014 Contestants

    The Miss Hardin County Fair Pageant will is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, opening night of the Hardin County Fair.  Miss Hardin County Fair 2013 Erin Perkins will crown this year’s winner.  
    Fourteen young ladies are competing for this year’s title.  They include
    Amber Rene Vincent, 18, daughter of James & Lesley Vincent of Elizabethtown, sponsored by Bluegrass Insurance Services and Drs. Ben and Daisy Martinez.

    Stephen and Stephanie Sheeran of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Samantha Sheeran, of Lexington, to Trey Head, of Lexington, son of Carl and Barbara Head of Louisville.
    The bride-to-be is pursuing a degree in psychology at the University of Kentucky.
    The prospective groom is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in economics and is employed at Tek Systems in Louisville.
    The wedding is at 5:30 p.m. July 19, 2014, at Hurstbourne Baptist Church in Louisville.

  • Campbells celebrate 44th anniversary

    Ezekiel and Betty Campbell of Radcliff celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary July 1, 2014.
    They were married July 1, 1969, in Stopover with the Rev. Dewitt officiating.
    Mr. Campbell is a retired Army and Vietnam veteran.
    Mrs. Campbell is retired from Walker Intermediate School.
    They have two children and five grandchildren.

    Daniel and Kim Clifford of Radcliff announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Danielle Clifford of Louisville, to Thomas Minter of Fort Knox, son of Philip Minter and Beverly Barnes of North Carolina.
    The bride-to-be is a registered nurse at University of Louisville Hospital.
    The prospective groom is in the U.S. Army.
    The wedding is at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30, 2014, at the Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown with a reception to follow.

    The bride is the daughter of Michael Nawrocki of Elizabethtown and the late Mary Nawrocki.
    The groom is the son of the late Dock and Pearlie Williams.
    The bride was given in marriage by Michael Nawrocki.

    The bride is the daughter of Leah Donna Crabtree and Steve and Suzanne Crabtree, all of Elizabethtown.
    The groom is the son of Clay and Debbie Arnold of Roscoe.
    The couple resides in Roscoe.

    Retired Master Sgt. Leonard and Mrs. Jacquelyn Cohen of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Kimberly S. Cohen of Elizabethtown to Kyle M. Watson, of Jackson, Mississippi, son of Dr. Earl C. Watson of Clewiston, Florida, and the late Kyra Robertson Watson.
    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mannheim American High School in Mannheim, Germany, and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky Community College with an associate of applied science in business. She works as an assistant manager at a local bank.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and is a second-grade teacher at Brandenburg Primary School.

  • Local U.S. Army veteran and active duty soldier named Hometown Heroes by O’Charley’s

    As part of the restaurant’s reopening celebration, O’Charley’s on Hurstbourne Parkway in Louisville recognized U.S. Army veteran Kyle Lankford and Army Sgt. First Class David Kearns as Hometown Heroes. Both men are Purple Heart recipients.

    Lincoln Trail Elementary students visit Atria Senior Living to spend quality time with residents at breakfast. The students surprised residents with handmade clay pots and blankets, participated in the morning conductorcise and sang with residents.
