  • Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members participate in Hooray for Heroes

    Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members recently participated in the Hooray for Heroes event in Radcliff. There was an excellent attendance for the event as the Woman’s Club booth had approximately 600 people stop and register for a large gift basket which included a book, "Mama and Me," written by member Nora Sweat and homemade jellies and baked goods.

  • Elizabethtown Lions Club donation benefits Girl Scouts

    Elizabethtown Lions Club President Morris Bottoms presents the club’s annual check in support of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana to Chris Sherrard. One opportunity afforded scouts was to travel and make new friends along the way. One scout, Kami, age 16, said, “If I had to pick my favorite part of the whole destination, it would be just being with the other girls. We came to San Diego as strangers, but made lifetime friends.”

    NICHOLS. Air Force Airman Caitlyn J. Nichols graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio. A 2012 graduate of Fort Knox High School, she is the daughter of Krista Nichols of Fort Knox.

    BALL. Air Force Airman 1st Class Marcus H. Ball graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio. A 2008 graduate of Central Hardin High School, he is the son of Marcus Ball of Eastview.

    HARGIS. Air Force Airman Matthew D. Hargis graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio. A 2011 graduate of John Hardin High School, he is the son of Lorie Hargis of Cecilia.
