  • Heath presents program at Ancestral Trails meeting

    Ancestral Trails Historical Society met in November with Beverly Heath presenting a program on when LaRue County went dry in 1942. She interviewed senior citizens on the topic of moonshine and shared humorous and some tragic stories. The next meeting is Dec. 7. The topic is Pearl Harbor and a tribute to veterans. Everyone is invited to attend. For information, call 862-3209.

  • Cub Scouts assist with Backpack program at Feeding America

    Cub Scout Bear Pack 244 recently helped pack food for the Backpack Program at Feeding America. The scouts packed 1,000 bags of food. Troop members include Braden Dennison, Nathan Woodcock, Nathan Beeler, Connor Paragon, Michael Ammons and Wilson King. Leaders are Mike Dennison and Robert King. Also pictured is Nathan Woodcock’s sister, Miranda Woodcock.

  • Disselkamp speaks at Optimist Club meeting

    Optimist Club of Radcliff President Jackie Banks presents guest speaker Jamie Disselkamp, manager of Hosparus, with a certificate of appreciation. Hosparus helps people face end-of-life issues with as much care and thought as any other milestone in life so they can enjoy quality of life as much as possible.

  • Garden Club members gather at Cunningham Garden

    Recently, several members of the Garden Club of Elizabethtown met at the Cunningham Garden behind the Brown-Pusey House and completed a final clean up of the garden in preparation for winter. Throughout the year, five teams of volunteers from the club alternate weeks and plant, weed and trim the garden for the enjoyment of visitors to the Brown-Pusey House. The garden is open to the public and can be rented for weddings, receptions, etc.  

  • Woman’s Club members plan Christmas Tea

    The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members are making plans for the annual Christmas Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 at Pritchard Community Center. Tickets are $20.

    To make a single reservation, up to eight to a table, call Regina Lancaster, 765-6700. Checks can be mailed to Lancaster at her home address she will give when making reservations. The tea is an elegant gathering and is open to all ages.
