    The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Thomas and Brenda Skees of Cecilia and Raymond and Linda Farris of Caneyville. She is a graduate of Grayson County High School and is pursuing an associate degree.

    Phillip and Marita Walters of Upton celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary May 25, 2013.

    They were married May 25, 1973, at Bonnieville Baptist Church in Bonnieville by Bother Howard Srygler.

    Mrs. Walters is a floral designer at Upton Florist and Kerr’s Flowers in Cave City.

    Mr. Walters is retired from Gates Rubber Company.

    Chelsey Nicole Donaldson of Vine Grove and Josh Kyle Clater of Cecilia announce the birth of a daughter, Aivery Mae Clater, on May 7, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19½ inches long.

    Grandparents are Dale and Ela Donaldson of Vine Grove and Angela and Jim Clater of Cecilia.

    Great-grandparents are Daniel and Lydia Payne of Rineyville, Cecilia Dahmen of Vine Grove, Jackie and Joan Mitchell of Elizabethtown and Ella Clater of Sonora.

  • Canadays celebrate 50th anniversary

    Glenn and Carolyn Canaday will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 1, 2013.

    They were married June 1, 1963, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty.

    Mr. Canaday is retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

    Mrs. Canaday worked at Farmers Bank in Vine Grove.

    They have two children, Chris and the late Michelle; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

    They enjoyed a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands in February to celebrate the occasion.

    Clifford and Mary Lou Humes Owen of Hodgenville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 22, 2013.

    They were married May 22, 1953, at Upton Baptist Parsonage in Upton by the Rev. J. E. Darter.

    Mrs. Owen is the daughter of the late Bill and Alva Humes. In addition to being a great mom to three daughters, she is a member of the South Fork Homemakers Club and Eastern Star.

    James and Carolyn Pence of Glendale will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary June 7, 2013.

    They were married June 7, 1958, at Harmony Baptist Church in Louisville.

    Mrs. Pence retired from Hardin County Schools and is a charter member of Living Faith Baptist Fellowship.

    Mr. Pence is retired from American Synthetic Rubber Corporation and also is a charter member of Living Faith Baptist Fellowship.

    They have three children, Geneva Petzinger and Kathy Lee, both of Elizabethtown, and Jamie Pence of Glendale; and seven grandchildren.
