    Kay Bennett presided and welcomed guests, Betty and Gene Yates, family members of Agnes Cofer. Bennett then presented the Distinguished Member Award to Agnes Cofer, past president of Chapter 1050.

  • Warfords celebrate 57th anniversary

    Bob and Yuki Warford will celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2012, at Stone Hearth Restaurant, hosted by their daughters, Caroline Caves and Janet Perkins.

    They were married Oct. 3, 1955, in Tokyo, Japan, followed by a traditional Japanese wedding at the home of Mrs. Warford’s parents.

    Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwell of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Emily Susan Greenwell, to Ian Christopher Blaiklock, son of Steven and Karen Blaiklock of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a 2012 graduate of Transylvania University, where she received a degree in biology. She is employed by Ideal Image in Louisville.

    Hello, this week we are on fall break. I hope everyone is fine and having a good week off. There is not much going on and not much to write about.

    FALL. Fall is here and the weather is coming on and setting in for winter. The leaves are changing and the wind is getting that little bite of a chill in it. When I was a little girl, my mother always would say she could breathe better in cold weather. Now that I am getting older, I understand what she was talking about.

    Ashley Dominique McAtee of Elizabethtown and Thomas Jonathan Litafik of Pikeville were married Aug. 24, 2012, at My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown by Dr. Fred Klatka of the Fords Branch Church of Christ in Pikeville.

    The bride is the daughter of Anna Dennis of Frankfort and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clark of Elizabethtown.

    The groom is the son of Dema Ann Runyon Litafik and Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Litafik, all of Pikeville.

  • Piscatellos celebrate 50th anniversary

    Terry and Edna Piscatello of Rineyville recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a family dinner at Vincenzo’s in Louisville and also with a paddleboat cruise on the Mississippi River.

    They were married Sept. 8, 1962, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Canadensis, Pa., by the Rev. William Cusick.

    Mr. Piscatello retired as a corporate inspector from Best Foods in Bayshore, N.Y., and as senior pastor of Parkway Christian Church in Davie, Fla. He now volunteers at Helmwood Healthcare.
