  • Lowe's has framing workshop for Habitat women

    Lowe's in Elizabethtown sponsored a Women Framing Workshop on April 27 to help get ready for 2013 Hardin Habitat Women Build Day on May 11. Amy Warren and Clint Lewis, Lowe's employees, led the workshop and covered use of basic tools including skill saws, safety on the job site and how to frame a house. The group of 14 women volunteers then framed using the tools and skills they learned. Lowe's is the sponsor of Habitat Women Build Day. This is the event's sixth year in Hardin County.

  • Radcliff Woman’s Club provides for residents

    The Radcliff Woman’s Club recently learned the residents of North Hardin Health & Rehabilitation were in need of a subscription to a daily newspaper, to obtain regional and national news. Club members got into action and voted to provide the facility with a year’s subscription to The News-Enterprise.

  • Scouts beautify Saunders Springs

    On April 6, the Webelos/Arrow of Light Cub Scout Den Pack 130, chartered by Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, spread more than 5,000 pounds of gravel on hiking trails at Saunders Springs Nature Preserve in Radcliff as a community service project.

  • EHS hosts Pennies for PAWS

    Elizabethtown High School Spanish Club recently hosted a Pennies for PAWS campaign. Maria Barcenilla, Spanish club sponsor, Jesse Jiles, president of the Spanish Club and Bonnie Young, school-community liaison, presented $2,600 to PAWS Shelter Foundation volunteers Diane Shoffner and Carol Hubbard. The money will be used for the new Hardin County Animal Shelter.  

  • Jones – Vick

    Bobbie and Janet Jones of Rineyville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Contessa Jones, to Chris Vick, son of Wayne and Kelly Vick of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of John Hardin High School and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders at Eastern Kentucky University.

    The prospective groom also is a 2008 graduate of John Hardin High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in finance.

  • Noe – Linder

    Daniel and Tammie Noe of Cecilia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Danielle Leigh Noe of Cecilia, to Daniel Blake Linder of Eastview, son of Clint and Tammy Linder of Eastview.

    The bride-to-be is employed at Elizabethtown Diagnostic Imaging.

    The prospective groom is employed at Hardin County Water District No. 2.

    The wedding is at 4:30 p.m. May 11, 2013, at White Mills Baptist Church with a reception to follow at White Mills Christian Church.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Craddock - Bryan

    Courtney Lane Craddock and Nathaniel Shane Bryan, both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Randy and Bonnie Craddock of Elizabethtown. A 2000 graduate of Central Hardin High School, she attended the University of Louisville. She is a manager at McDonald’s.

  • Sanders – Seng

    David and Mona Sanders of Upton announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shana L. Sanders, to Cody J. Seng, son of Tim and Paula Seng of Upton.

    The bride-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Morehead State University with a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed by Sands Construction Company LLC.

    The prospective groom is employed by Bob Swope Ford.

    The wedding is May 16, 2013, at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

    A reception for family and friends will be held at a later date.

  • Fraziers welcome Emma Brook

    Robert and Kelly Frazier of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Emma Brook Frazier, on March 22, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.

    She has a brother, Gerald Frazier.

    Maternal grandparents are Debbie and Jerry Wiseman of Elizabethtown; paternal grandparents are Sharon Troutman of Louisville and Gene Frazier and Becky Newton of Bardstown.

     Great-grandparents are Barbara Dalton, Shirley Frazier and Bob and Mary Jo Martincic.
