    THOMPSON. Air Force Airman Ronald J. Thompson has arrived for duty at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. Thompson is an aircraft structural maintainer assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He has served in the military for one year. A 2010 graduate of North Hardin Christian School, he is the son of Ron and Brenda Thompson of Radcliff, Kevin and Dawn Farris of Elizabethtown and Olivia Smith of Temple Terrace, Fla.

  • Sousa named noncommissioned officer of the quarter

    SOUSA. Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas A. Sousa has been named noncomissioned officer of the quarter, third quarter, for United States Army Medical Department Activity at Fort Knox. Selection was based on the individual’s exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, teamwork, significant self-improvement, personal achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support. Sousa has served in the military for seven years. A 2005 graduate of Shelton High School in Washington, he is the son of Robert Wheaton of Vine Grove.

    Jarrod and Jacki Knowlden of Clarksville, Tenn., announce the birth of a daughter, Mena Jane Knowlden, on Nov. 3, 2012, at Gateway Hospital in Clarksville. She weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    She has a brother, Jackson Knowlden.

    Maternal grandparents are Danny and Diane Hafer of Elizabethtown; paternal grandparents are Dennis and Minetta Knowlden of Berthoud, Colo.
