• Beelers celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Herbert and Opalene Beeler of Glendale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 14, 2013.

    They were married Dec. 14, 1963, by the Rev. Earl Sanders.

    They have two children, Curtis Beeler and Kimberly Mosley; and six grandchildren.

    Because of illness, a celebration will be at a later date.

    Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey True of Bowling Green announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carrie Marie True, to Kyle David Larkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Larkin of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald White of South Bend, Ind., and Betty Ann True and the late Dr. G. Herbert True of Bloomington, Ind. She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and is a special education teacher with Bowling Green Independent Schools.

    Austin, Ashley and Carter Basham and Arielle, Ashlynn and Scott Biscaro announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their parents, Andrea “Andi” Patterson and David Biscaro, both of Savannah, Ga.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Marilyn Patterson of Rineyville.

    The prospective groom is the son of Gail Glynn and Romeo Biscaro of Colorado Springs, Colo.

    The wedding is at 5 p.m. June 18, 2014, at a historic chapel in Savannah. A reception will follow.

    Effie E. Riggs will celebrate her 90th birthday from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 21, 2013, at 688 Grayson St., Upton.

    She was born Dec. 21, 1923.

    Bryce and Kimberly Shumate of Radcliff announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Meighan Lee Shumate of Radcliff to Michael Vincent Cable Jr., also of Radcliff, son of Michael Sr. and Terry Cable of Radcliff.

    The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of North Hardin High School and is a senior at Western Kentucky University.

    The prospective groom also is a 2009 graduate of North Hardin High School, is attending KP3 Leadership Academy and is a worship pastorate graduate.

  • Yoga event benefits Warm Blessings

    Elizabeth McNeal, yoga instructor at NTouch Spa and Fitness promoted a “Stretch Breathe, Relax and Give Back” yoga event to support the Warm Blessing Soup Kitchen Thanksgiving dinner.  Participant’s $15 donation for each class was given to Warm Blessings, along with food items such as large cans of sweet potatoes, green beans or cranberry sauce. McNeal has coordinated three similar events in the past to benefit Warm Blessings.

    DOYLE. Army Reserve Pvt. Caleb J. Doyle has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. A 2012 graduate of La Vergne High School, La Vergne, Tenn., he is the son of Robin Doyle of Elizabethtown.
