    Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland Executive Director Gary Miles, and lead warehouse associate Vicki Abshire congratulate Loretta Fitzpatrick, who was chosen as the Volunteer of the Month for October. She began volunteering at Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland in February and often comes several mornings a week.

  • Elizabethtown Lions Club members provide eye screening at the fair

    Elizabethtown Lions Club District 43N Past District Gov. Tony Bishop explains eye screening results to one of many who took advantage of the free service at the 2013 Kentucky State Fair. Lions from District 43N annually provide eye screening during the fair. Tests include far and near vision, peripheral vision, Glaucoma and Amblyopia, lazy eye, which if caught before age 5 or 6, can be corrected.

    What beautiful weather we have been having lately, the light chill of the fall weather is in the air, the sun has been shining. Such a beautiful time to be outside completing those fall chores. One thing I am going to miss is the fresh vegetables from the garden, though we didn’t have a garden this year, son Wayne has been keeping us supplied.
