Ashley Hunt and Leo Sweet III, both of Cecilia, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sharon Hunt of Elizabethtown and Mitch and Leitha Hunt of Cecilia. She is a 2004 graduate of Central Hardin High School and attended Western Kentucky University. She is a dining facility attendant at River City Management Services.

The prospective groom is the son of Tom and Kim Sweet of Magnolia. He is a 2003 graduate of Central Hardin High School and attended WKU. He is a department manager at Lowe’s.

CKAG Names Milliner Artist Of The Month

At the June18 meeting of the Central Kentucky Art Guild, Sharon Milliner was selected by the attendees as Artist of the Month. The theme for August was “Covered Bridges,” and her painting was entitled “Over the Elkhorn.” The painting is featured at Cobbler Café in downtown Elizabethtown. The next meeting of the CKAG is at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Nolin RECC building on Ring Road in Elizabethtown. Visitors are welcome.

Neary graduates from sergeant’s academy

On June 24, Sergeant David P. Neary of the Elizabethtown Police Department graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training’s (APS) Academy of Police Supervision. The APS, also referred to as the sergeant’s academy, is a three-week, 120-hour, training program for newly promoted sergeants or officers who are on their agency’s promotion list.
