    The prospective groom, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, is a pharmacist at Apothecare Pharmacy in Elizabethtown.

    Capt. Andrew and Roslynn Betson of West Point, N.Y., announce the birth of a daughter, Olivia Jean Betson, on May 30, 2012, at Keller Army Hospital in West Point.

    She has a brother, Ethan.

  • Mudds celebrate 50th anniversary

    Mary Jo and Frank Mudd of Flaherty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 8, 2012.

    They were married Sept. 8, 1962, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty.

    Mrs. Mudd is a homemaker and enjoys reading, crafts and spending time with family.

    Mr. Mudd is retired from Fort Knox. He enjoys gardening, in particular growing giant pumpkins and watermelons. He holds the state record for the largest watermelon at 274.5 pounds.

    Darrin and Melissa Goodman of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a son, Parker Shane Goodman, on Aug. 8, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Gerald and Sheila Murphy of Hodgenville. Paternal grandparents are Ronnie and Carolyn Goodman of Cecilia.

    Great-grandparent is Ival Rainey.

    The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars participated in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor recognizing Eagle Scout Chaffin Blair on Aug. 5 at Stovall United Methodist Church.
