    OUR BUNDLE OF JOY ARRIVED! Chloe Marie Gilpin was born June 1. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 18½ inches long. Cory and I just cried with such joy seeing her for the first time. My sister, Jamilee, also was present during her birth. 

    KENTUCKY WEATHER. It seems to be warming up. Very nice.

  • Cradys celebrate 50th anniversary

    Edward and Gloria Adcock Crady of Elizabethtown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. June 15, 2013, at Severns Valley Baptist Church.

    They were married June 15, 1963, at Severns Valley Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Crady worked for Elizabethtown Independent Schools and retired from LaRue County Schools. She is an active member of Severns Valley Baptist Church.

    Gary and Toni Becker of Vine Grove celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary June 7, 2013.

    They were married June 7, 1968, in West Columbia, S.C.

    They own and operate Nu_Lawn Fertilizing and Weed Control of Radcliff.

    Family and friends will celebrate at a barbecue today, Sunday, at the Becker home in Vine Grove.

    Hello. First things first, I want to say how proud I am of my great-nephew, Jacob Lee Lampton. He is a part of this year graduating class of 2013. I am sure his mother and dad are so proud of him. And his grandma Sam I know is happy. This is her first grandchild who has graduated and this makes the third one in the great-grandkids who has crossed a great mile stone. Life for all the graduating classes has just begun and a new chapter in life, so I wish many blessings for all of you.

  • Army ROTC brigade changes command at Fort Knox

    U.S. Army Cadet Command’s 1st Brigade welcomed new leadership Thursday.

    Col. David Wood succeed Col. Michael Blahovec in ROTC Cadet Command at Fort Knox. First Brigade Command Sgt. Maj. Darin Smith was also surpassed by Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Martinez during the ceremony.

    Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. No. 10281 Commander Butch Ferrell and Ladies Auxiliary President Carol Hill recently presented awards to two JROTC cadets at Central Hardin High School. The commander and president presented a certificate of honor to Cadet of the Year Kortney Hoversholm and presented a scholarship check to Cadet Maj. Samantha Harris.
