Addison Sego announces the birth of a brother, Reed Thomas Sego, on April 7, 2011 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long.

Parents are Joe and Dana Sego of Elizabethtown.

Maternal grandparents are Randy and Dianne Alvey of Sonora.

Paternal grandparents are Jane and Ronnie VanMeter of Sonora.

Another year half gone, how does the time go so quickly? It seems with each year’s passing the next one goes a bit faster. This has been a very disastrous year for so many with tornados, flooding, fires, so many disasters of nature. We had 50-mile per hour winds here Monday afternoon, which tore up a shed near the home of our neighbor. Other than that, to my knowledge, this area has been fortunate in experiencing little damage this year.

The Elizabethtown Lions Club was pleased to contribute to the Hardin County 4-H Program. 4-H is a community of young people across America, who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. Lion President Brian Dennis, left, presents a check to Marla Stillwell, county extension agent for the 4-H youth program in support of these goals.

There was a “meet and greet” with Todd P’Pool, the Republican candidate for state attorney general, on June 14 at the Brown-Pusey House. P’Pool greeted Harry Berry, Hardin County judge executive.
