    HEARTLAND FILLIES. On Oct. 11, the Heartland Fillies  were invited to sing for one of the biggest fund raising events in Hardin County, the Burger King Breast Cancer Awareness Tractor Pull. Not only did the Fillies provide the opening music, but they also sang the Star Spangled Banner just prior to the first tractor . It was a privilege and a joy for this group to participate in such a worthy cause.

  • Reiters celebrate 25th wedding anniversary

    Michael E. and Judy L. Scott Reiter of Vine Grove, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Nov. 24, 2013.

    They were married Nov. 24, 1988, in Radcliff by Bill Hagee.

    Mr. Reiter is employed by City Cab.

    Mrs. Reiter is employed at Wal-Mart in Radcliff.

    They have three sons, David Pavel of Kansas, Scott Pavel of Tennessee and Steven Reiter of Pennsylvania; and one grandchild.

    Bridgette and Rocky Blair of Hodgenville and Melissa “Missy” and Troy Milby of Buffalo announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Whitley Blair of Hodgenville and Benjamin Milby of Buffalo.

    The bride-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is pursuing an allied health degree at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. She is a property manager of Vineland Carriage Homes in Vine Grove.

    Toni Michelle Swanson and Joseph William Sweat were married Oct. 20, 2013, in the garden of the Brown Pusey House in Elizabethtown by the Rev. Kenneth Lawson.

    The bride is the daughter of Kevin Swanson of Elizabethtown and Peggy Swanson of Louisville and the granddaughter of Ramona Poole of Louisville.

    The groom is the son of Michael and Nora Sweat of Elizabethtown.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Matron of honor was Natalie Drury of Rineyville.

  • Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown has game day

    A fun games day was sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown on Oct. 17, at the Brown Pusey House. Club members invited friends from the community to have a fun day of playing games such as Bridge, Canasta, Rook and board games. Club member Shirley Pond served lunch, compliments of Atria Assisted Living.

    LASHLEY. Army Reserve Private Danielle R. Lashley graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

    Lashley is the daughter of Debra and Percy Howard Jr. of Radcliff.

    She is a 2005 graduate of North Hardin High School.

    MACK. Army Reserve Private Jasmine E. Mack graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

    Mack is the daughter of Vonetta Mack of Radcliff.

    She is a 2012 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.
