• Evans honored with citation from Kentucky Senate

  • Fohl graduates from basic training

    FOHL. Air Force Airman Michael J. Fohl graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2007 graduate of Central Hardin High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Western Kentucky University. He is the son of Donna Fohl of Elizabethtown.

  • Wahler returns from deployment

    WAHLER. Army Sgt. 1st Class Ryan M. Wahler has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. ahler is a medic assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for 15 years. A 1997 graduate of Fort Knox High School, he is the son of Kelly and Marc Wahler Sr. of Salem, Ala.

  • Stader graduates from Navy’s Nuclear Power School

    STADER. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Evan M. Stader graduated from the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C. A 2010 graduate of Fishers High School in Indiana, he is the son of  David Stader of Fishers, Ind., and Katrina Reeves of Vine Grove.

  • Gold Vault Patriots has November meeting

    The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 1051, Gold Vault Patriots monthly membership meeting was Nov. 25. New members welcomed into the chapter were Douglas Clark, Robert Hedrick and Fred Clem Jr. Each received a VVA coin from President Leon Faulk. Vice President Percy Goodloe introduced again the chapter’s service officer, James Smith. 

    Meeting dates for 2013 were discussed and future meetings are at 2 p.m. the third Sunday of the month.

  • RIASOK Shrine Club sponsors First Annual “Shop With A Shriner”

    On Dec. 15, 25 Shriners dawned their fezzes and stood in the foyer of Kohl’s Department Store awaiting the arrival of middle school children in need from Hardin County Schools.

    Eighteen children from Hardin County Schools were guided through the aisles choosing items from the shelves and placing them in the push carts while Shriners and their wives from the RIASOK Shrine Club of Elizabethtown looked on with joy in their eyes and hearts.

  • Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club members have December meeting

    The Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club held its last meeting of 2012 on Dec. 3. President Debbie Donnelly recognized elected officials and dignitaries in attendance. Donnelly gave the devotion on “The Candy Cane”. Magistrate Roy Easter gave the prayer and blessing of the food. Everyone enjoyed the holiday dinner prepared by Mona Stiles.
