    Hello friends, as always I hope everyone is doing well. There’s not much news to tell, but there are some activities going on in the communities.

    SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL. Lakewood Elementary PTT is happy to have its Third Annual Sunflower Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8. Activities and persons of contact are as follows.

  • Duralls celebrate 60th anniversary

    Ray and Margie Harper Durall of Rineyville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 21, 2012, at their home.

    Mrs. Durall, a native of Missouri, retired from UARCO and is a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

    Mr. Durall, also a native of Missouri, retired from the military at Fort Knox and also is a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

    They have three children, Debi Durall and Carl Durall, both of Rineyville, and Becky Voss of New Albany, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

    Bruce and Deborah Parker of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Christopher Parker of Elizabethtown, to Kristi Wooden of Elizabethtown, daughter of Rue Wooden of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is employed at Jack Henry and Associates.

    The prospective groom is majoring in music education at Campbellsville University. He is a manager at McDonalds and assistant band director for the Marion County High School Band.

    Heather and Jonathan Clan of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Emma Grace Clan, on July 22, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She weighed 6 pounds, 10.5 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    She has a brother, Phillip James Clan.

    Maternal grandmother is Marlene Eaton and paternal grandparents are Elizabeth and Larry Clan.
