    Charles David and Betty Jean Atwell Sallee of Elizabethtown will celebrate their 50th anniversary today, June 1, 2012.

    They were married June 1, 1962, by the Rev. Earl Sanders at his home in White Mills.

    They have two sons, Alan Sallee of Elizabethtown and Mike Sallee of Scottsville; a daughter, Melissa of Elizabethtown; and eight grandchildren.

    The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is a loan processor at the Bank of Clarkson.

    The prospective groom is an emergency department tech at Hardin Memorial Health, a full-time student at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and is pursuing a career as a registered nurse.

    The pools are filled with people and summer is off to a great start. The weather has been very cooperative and hopefully it will continue.     BENEFIT. There will be a benefit supper and auction for Eddie Booker beginning at 5 p.m. June 9 in the Blueball Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Eddie has been off from work since the last of February because of health problems. The benefit supper and auction will help cover medical expenses and loss of work.

    BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy birthday to Kayla Beeler and Kayla Booker Green on May 29. Also happy birthday this week to Suzanne Dennis and Doris Masterson. Happy belated birthday to McKenzie Bailey.
