    The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2006 graduate of Berea College with a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts.

     The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of LaRue County High School and a 2012 graduate of Bluegrass Community and Technical College with a degree in polysomnography.

    Mary Rachel Lindsey of Knightstown, Ind., and Abraham Salazar of Houston were married by the Rev. William Burton of Morristown, Tenn.,  on July 14, 2012, at New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown.

    The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Laura Lindsey of Knightstown; and granddaughter of Jerry and Rita Brown and Ruth Lindsey of Elizabethtown.

    The groom is the son of Pedro and Jacinta Salazar of Houston.

    Briana Schlosser and Evan Thompson, both of Elizabethtown, were married by the Revs. Chad Lewis and Perry Gillum on May 12, 2012, at Bethesda Ministries in Elizabethtown.

    The bride is the daughter of Vern and Debbie Schlosser of Elizabethtown.

    The groom is the son of Dale and Carla Decker of Shepherdsville and Mark and Kathy Thompson of Glendale.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    ROBERTS. Air Force Airman Amber M. Roberts recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    Roberts is the daughter of Leanna and Kerry Roberts of Elizabethtown.

    She is a 2008 graduate of John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.

  • Bailey graduates basic training

    BAILEY. Air Force Airman Nicholas R. Bailey graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    Bailey is the son of Steve and Valerie Bailey of Clarkson.

    He is a 2011 graduate of Grayson County High School in Leitchfield.

  • Locals helps form CSADD committee

    Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Patrica R. Fowler, a 1988 graduate of North Hardin High School in Radcliff;  Navy Airman Gregory A. Boatright, a 2003 graduate of Bluegrass Military Academy in Fort Knox; and fellow sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) formed a Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions (CSADD) committee.

    CSADD is a peer-to-peer mentoring program geared toward assisting Sailors in making positive decisions in all areas of their lives.

  • Meyer promoted while stationed in Japan

    MEYER. U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Dylan Meyer was promoted June 1. He is currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He is the son of Harry and Jan Meyer of Rineyville.

  • Radcliff Rotary not Horse-ing around

    Recent guest of the Radcliff Rotary Club was Jo Ann Heppermann, thoroughbred race horse owner and author. She and her husband, Ken, have owned and syndicated thoroughbreds for 11 years during which they have experienced the ups and downs of the racing business. Heppermann has used this experience to write a book titled “Rose Colored Horses.”

    Her talk gave the club a taste of what it is like to watch a “living investment” grow and run for the big money only to watch it come in last place or worse yet, suffer injury and have to retire.

    Mr. and Mrs. Barton Herrin Sr. announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amelia Morgan Herrin, to Joseph Henry Weber, son of Robert Weber and Vonda Miller.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is a music major at Campbellsville University.

    The prospective groom is a 2009 graduate of Western Hills High School in Frankfort and also is a music major at Campbellsville University.

    The wedding is July 21, 2012.
