Vine Grove Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, welcomed Pam Harrison to the chapter on May 16 to receive donations for the local animal shelter. This is something dear to the groups’ hearts and they have been glad to work with them for the past three years.

They have several critters available for adoption to loving homes and can always use assistance with the care of the animals. Visit http://animalrefugecenter.org or call them at 877-6064 for more information. 

The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown has a very lovely tradition of honoring one’s memory at their passing or the memory of an immediate family member such as a spouse or child by giving a book to the Hardin County Public Library. The club lost 11 members and/or spouses this year alone. 

The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars conducted a Youth Leadership Conference with the Kentucky Bluegrass ChalleNge Academy Cadets on May 21 at the Patton Museum on Fort Knox.
The MOWW National Commander-in-Chief Retired Col. Clifford Way was visiting the Fort Knox chapter to observe the chapter’s revised structure of the leadership training program. As a result, he was impressed with the approach and will recommend that other chapters consider employing the same version of the instruction.

The local Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc host it’s Alpha in White Scholarship Gala which supports local students with money for college. Pictured are Marcus Ray, Carl Millsap, Major Kurt Hinton and Radcliff City Councilman Stan Holmes.
